Best Laptops for Small Businesses in 2023

As someone who works with a lot of small to medium-sized businesses, one of the most asked questions I get around this time of year is "what are the best laptops for an operating business?"

And I have quite a few recommendations for 2023

Let's get into it.

There are certain criteria I like to go off when deciding the best laptops to recommend to business owners.

The perfect laptop needs to make it easy to get work done in a productive manner. It needs to be lightweight, with a good keyboard and an easy-to-read screen. And above all, they need to have a long battery life.

At one point, businesses were very limited in the types of work laptops they had available to them.

We've come a long way since the first Lenovo ThinkPad and we need a good system to sort through all the new options.

Here's our guide for the best business laptops you can buy in 2023.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano

Okay, I know what you're thinking. "You just said we came a long way from the ThinkPad," but the truth is, Lenovo still offers a great modern business laptop model.

The new ThinkPad X1 Nano is a powerful laptop that is not only lightweight but long-lasting.

Coming in at only 2 pounds, the ThinkPad is one of the lightest laptops on our list.

Plus, with a battery life of 12 hours, you'll have enough power to get you through a busy workday and then some.

You won't have to sacrifice productivity and usability either.

The Nano uses Intel's 11th Gen Tiger Lake processor which provides the speed you need for a lot of productivity.

This version will run you about $1,400. It's definitely on the more expensive side of this list, so keep that in mind if the price is a deterrent.

A personal pro I give to this laptop is the keyboard. I like how comfortable the typing experience is. It's comparable to other Lenovo products.

One thing I will note is that you will need to carry a USB converter, as the Nano sports just two Thunderbolt USB-C ports.

HP Spectre X360 14

Next on our list is the HP Spectre x360 14.

The 13-inch model, at about $1,200 is one of the best 2-in-1 business laptops on the market.

The Spectre offers a sleek design, that acts as both a laptop and a tablet.

With excellent sound quality, an OLED Intuitive touchscreen display, and pen controls, this laptop is great for anyone in the creative space.

Apple MacBook Air with M1

Macs and the entire Apple ecosystem are something we are seeing utilized more and more in the business space, especially with workers buying devices for both personal and work use.

The current MacBook Air is a great on-the-go business laptop. It will run you about $1,000.

What really makes it stand out is the introduction of the M1 chip.

This chip elevates the overall performance of the MacBook Air. With an incredible battery life of 14 hours and 41 minutes, a clearer and more accurate webcam, and the Magic Keyboard providing a great typing experience, this Air is the best we've seen from Apple thus far.

It's powerful, durable, and capable of handling everything from virtual meeting presentations to the average coffee shop work session.

I will note this is another laptop lacking in the port department. So keep that in mind if you need more than a USBC plug-in.

Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360

Next, we have a great on-the-go laptop. The Samsung Galaxy Book2 is Samsungs new addition with a gorgeous AMOLED screen.

It is another ultra-thin, 2-in-1 laptop with an emphasis on speedy performance coming in at $1,200.

With this laptop, you have the benefit of a Windows core with all the software that comes along with the Samsung ecosystem.

So, if you are already a Samsung user and are in need of a portable, powerful device. This might be the one.

Acer Swift 3

Lastly, I want to include an option for those of you with a bit of a tighter budget.

And the Acer Swift 3 is one of the best laptops you can get for under $700.

The Acer Swift 3 is a great example of exceptional performance at a surprisingly low price.

So, this is a great option for a company that wants the most bang for its buck.

This laptop, which features AMD hardware, has a great battery life of over 11 hours, and a portable design.

Plus, it has three USB Type-A, one HDMI, and more ports than some of the laptops I listed before.

While this laptop is a great budget-friendly option, it's not the best if you are looking for something with a bright display and powerful speakers.
